Claim Permit

Overview

This page allows you to claim ownership of data that was entered by someone else. 

When you make a claim, you are claiming that you are one of the Permit Holders listed in the OnlineMooring database.  After a successful claim, you may be able to see this data and perform additional actions if your security role allows you to do so.

One common situation where this would happen is when the permitter enters data into the web site.  In order for the permit holder to review the data and pay, the permit holder must use this "claim" process to indicate which permits are theirs.

When a user successfully claims some data, it has no impact on anyone else who may have already claimed the data.  If a husband and wife are both listed on a permit, for example, they might have two separate accounts with this web site, and both accounts could lay claim to the same permit.

When a permit holder submits their own application online, they are automatically associated with the permit, so no additional claim process is necessary.

Fields

User Name:  This is the user name that is making the claim.

Claim Number:   The claim number needs to be provided by someone who already has access to the data in question.  This is usually provided by the permitter, since they have access to all data.  If you already have access to the data, you can find the Claim Number on the Permittee screen.

Security

People can access this page if the permit authority has given the user Claim_Permit privileges of any kind.
