Item

The Item page allows you to add or edit an item that can be charged to a boater.

The fields on this page are as follows:

- Item Name.  This is the name of the item you are charging to the boater.  

- Application Type.  If you leave this blank, then you can add this item to any application.  If you specify one of your application types here, you will only be able to add the item to applications for this specific application type.

- Allow Meter Entry.  Check this box if you charge for this item based on a meter reading (such as electricity or other utilities).  If you check this option, we'll provide an entry field for you to enter the meter reading for this item.  We'll calculate the quantity based on the difference between the current meter reading and the previous meter reading at the assigned berth.  In order for the first meter to work properly, you'll need to do an initial meter reading by adding an Additional Item action, picking this item, entering the initial meter reading and the reading date, and then overriding the quantity calculated to 0.

- Allow Quantity Entry.  Check this box if you allow more than one item to be sold to the boater.

- Units.  This will describe the quantity, for example:  each, gallon, kWh, etc.

- Unit Cost.  This is the charge for each unit that you sell.

- Effective Date.  Your charge may vary over time.  Enter the date when the rate you are entering will take effect.  If you enter a date on or before today, the rate will be used starting immediately.  If you enter a date in the future, your current rate will stay unchanged until the specified date.

- Minimum Charge.  If you have a minimum charge that you charge, enter that charge here.  If the quantity * unit cost is less than the minimum, we will charge the minimum.

- Maximum Charge.  If you have a limit on how much you charge, enter that charge here.  If the quantity * unit cost is more than the maximum, we will charge the maximum.
