This report generates a list of vessels that meet the specified report parameters.
In particular, this report was designed so that it could be used by municipalities in Massachusetts to generate a list of vessels that should be charged an excise tax. But, it could be used for other purposes as well.
Report Parameters
Date and Time - The report will potentially include all vessels that are assigned to berths as of the date/time entered here
Minimum Length - The report will exclude all vessels that are shorter than the length specified here. The default value is 15 because Massachusetts excise tax only applies to vessels 15' or longer.
Exclude Boats with Names - The report will exclude all vessels that have any of the names listed here. You can enter a comma-separated list of boat names. For example, if you enter "x,y,z" then the report will exclude boats named x or y or z. The intent is to remove boats that aren't legitimate vessels, such as ones with a name of "various" or "guest", etc.
Occupancy Type - The report can filter the list of boats based on whether they are assigned seasonally, or on a transient basis. By default, the report is set to include vessels that are assigned seasonally, and to exclude the boats that are assigned only on a transient basis.
Berth Type -The report can filter the list of boats based on the type of berth it is assigned to. If a client uses Online Mooring to manage moorings and kayak racks, you can use this option to include only the boats that are assigned to moorings, and to exclude the boats that are assigned to kayak racks.
Report Creation Options
There are two ways to run the report:
View Button - This will show the report within your web browser. NOTE: this method of creating the report shows the information that can fit on a printed page, and we had to leave out some fields because they couldn't fit within the printed page. If you want to see ALL the information, please use the next option to Export the results to a spreadsheet.
Export Button - This will generate a file that will be downloaded to your browser. It will be a CSV file, which can be opened in your favorite spreadsheet program. It contains all the information, but may require some formatting to get things looking exactly the way you'd like.
Report Format
Rows - The intent is to display a row in the report for each vessel that meets the conditions specified above. The only known situation where you might see the same boat more than once would be if the boat is assigned to multiple berths AND each assignment is for a different owner.
Columns - The information displayed on each row includes the owner info and their contact information, and information about the vessel.
