The intent behind this dashboard is to give you better visibility about what is going on with your berths, bringing clarity to features that may have been previously hidden. For example, unassigned berths (berths with an “Available” status) may not be visible through the Application Dashboard, but do appear on the Berth Dashboard.
Your Berth Dashboard will vary in appearance depending on the configuration of your site.
Tabs
If your Online Mooring site has a drop-down list configured for the Berth Type field, you will see one tab for each value in your drop-down list, plus a tab called “All Types” which summarizes all berths regardless of their type. If you don’t have a drop-down list configured for the Berth Type field, you won’t see any tabs. The color coding of the tabs is similar to the Application Dashboard:
- Green - “no action needed” because all the existing berths have been assigned
- Yellow – “action needed, but you’re on track” because you are in the middle of assigning all available berths
- Red – “action needed” because there are available berths. Most clients will use this as a trigger to assign someone to these berths on either a temporary or long-term basis
Exception: You will see only one Berth Type if you came to the Berth Dashboard from the Application Dashboard, if the Application Type you were on was configured for a single Berth Type.
Berth Status Summary
Online Mooring calculates a status for each berth, which is different than the application statuses that appear on the Application Dashboard. As an example, let’s say you have a berth which is a 50’ dock, and there is currently a single 20’ vessel assigned to that dock. The application status for that 20’ vessel would say “Approved”, but the status of that dock would be “Partially Occupied”, which means that there is still room to put another vessel there.
Here’s a summary of the berth statuses (you can hover over any of the statuses on the Dashboard to see these explanations):
Occupied – Someone is currently assigned to this berth, and no one else can be assigned to it at the same time.
Partially Occupied – Someone is currently assigned to this berth, but someone else may be assigned to it at the same time (up to the defined capacity of the berth). You won’t see this status if your site isn’t configured to show the berth’s Capacity Type and Capacity Units fields.
Pending – No one is currently assigned to the berth, but someone is currently in the process of being assigned. This means that there is at least one “Incomplete” or “Under Review” application for this berth.
Available – No one is currently assigned to this berth.
Unavailable - This berth has been configured so that no one can be assigned to it.
Proposed – Someone has provided information about a berth that may be installed in the future, but it hasn’t been installed yet.
Not Present – The berth has been removed, so it is no longer physically present.
Flag Summary
Your site may have flag types defined for applications, berths, vessels, or people. The Application Dashboard shows flag types that are for applications, and the Berth Dashboard shows flag types that are for berths. You will only see this summary if you have Flag Types for berths, and if you have flagged at least one berth.
Inspection Status Summary
If you have indicated on any Application Types for this Berth Type that inspections are needed, you will see this summary. This summary is broken down by inspection status. The inspection statuses are:
Current – No inspection is needed yet, because an inspection has occurred within your specified timeframes
Required – An inspection is needed now, because no inspection has even been recorded for this berth
Required, last inspection passed – An inspection is needed, and the last time an inspection occurred the berth passed inspection
Required, last inspection failed – An inspection is needed, and the last time an inspection occurred the berth failed inspection
Berth Usage Meter
This shows what percentage of the berths of this type are currently in use. This is the same meter that appeared on the classic Dashboard.
Berth Calendar
You can click this button to see a calendar grid, with one row for each berth of this type, and one column for each time period. If you see someone’s name listed on the calendar, you can click the name to view the person’s application. This is the same functionality that appeared on the classic Dashboard.
Add Button
You can click this button to add information about a new Berth of the specified type.
Assignment Summary
This information only appears if you are in the middle of assigning someone to a berth from a wait list, using the Assign button on the Berth Summary page. If you are not using the Assignment process yet, please wait for an upcoming e-mail announcement, which will discuss enhancements to that process.
This section shows a listing of all “in-progress” assignments from wait lists. The “Assignment From” column indicates which wait list you are going through, and the “To Berth” column indicates which berth you are trying to assign to. If you click on the link in the “Assignment From” column, it’ll bring you to the wait list, allows you to take action on the next person on the wait list, and shows why all the prior people on the wait list were not assigned. If you click on the “To Berth” column, that’ll take you to the Berth Summary page, where you can update information about the Berth.
Service Provider Change Request Tab
This tab can appear for sites that ask Service Providers to enter information about their inspections. This tab used to appear on the classic Dashboard. The tab appears if you are logged in as an Inspector (meaning that your ID has been configured to only see berths that are assigned to a specific Service Provider), or if you are an administrator and there are in-progress change requests.
A mooring inspector submits a change request when they don’t have rights to enter inspection data for a berth. This happens when the person assigned to the mooring incorrectly specified their service provider the last time they submitted an application, or they changed their service provider after submitting their application.
The inspector goes to the Berth Dashboard, clicks the Service Provider Change Request tab, and clicks the Add button.
To submit the change request, the inspector enters the berth number and the last name of the person currently assigned to that berth. Both pieces of information are needed to ensure that inspectors don’t simply make requests for every mooring.
Once the change request has been submitted, Online Mooring e-mails one or more people to approve or reject the request.Unless you’ve asked us to configure things differently, the first person we reach out to is the person assigned to the berth. If they don’t respond within 7 days we’ll reach out to the e-mail address shown on your Online Mooring home page. The e-mail notifications contain links to Approve or Reject the change request. If anyone approves the change, the Service Provider on the berth is updated. If anyone rejects the change, the Service provider on the berth remains unchanged.
When a site administrator comes to this tab, they’ll see a listing of all change requests that need to be Approved or Rejected.
When the administrator clicks on the Under Review link, they’ll come to a page listing all the open change requests. The administrator can click the approve or reject icons as appropriate.
