(history as of 10/28/2011 11:50:45 PM)
Welcome to Online Mooring. This web site allows you to interact electronically with harbors in our network. Our harbors (called "providers") are government agencies, commercial marinas, or yacht clubs that give permission to do something in their jurisdiction, such as getting a permit to use a mooring (or a slip, or a dock, etc.), renting a slip, or becoming a member.
About Help
You most likely got to this help page by clicking the help button that appears after the page title on the Home Page. Like every page in Online Mooring, the help button after the page title will get you help for the page you are on. As a result, this help page provides information about the Home Page only. To see a complete list of help topics, click the "Index (Show)" link to the left of this paragraph. You can also search for help pages that contain any word(s) you want by entering the words in the search box in the top-right corner of this help page.
These help pages are interactive. Please rate each help page so that we can focus our efforts on the pages that need the most improvement. If you have any comments that you think would be helpful for other users, please feel free to add those as well. Also please let us know if you had any specific questions that weren't answered here. Thank you in advance for your feedback!
Page Overview
This is the main page for one of the Online Mooring providers, allowing you to view and manage your requests ("applications") to that provider.
We use the term "application" to refer to all related information for a single applicant and request. Let's say you submit a wait list request for a mooring one year, and then need to reapply to remain on the wait list, and then you are assigned a mooring, and then the next year you need to reapply to keep the mooring. Since all of these are related, they are treated as a single "application" in Online Mooring, even though they might have corresponded to multiple paper applications prior to Online Mooring.
Fields
My Applications
This section of the Home Page only appears if you have logged in.
If your account has access to any existing permits or permit applications, they will be listed in this section of the page. For each, you will see a "Permit Number", which is either an application number or a permit number, the current status of the permit, and how much money is currently owed for that permit. To view more information about any one of these permits, click on the permit number.
If your permit issuer has given you permission to renew your permit, a Renew button will appear next to your permit.
If one or more of your existing permit(s) do not appear in this section, it is because your Login ID has not been given rights to access those permits. To access your permits, you will need to enter one or more access codes that you can obtain from your permit issuer. There are two ways to enter an access code:
- If the permit issuer has your e-mail address, they can send you a link that you can click on, which will automatically enter the access code.
- The permit issuer can provide you the access code verbally or in paper form. Then, you can enter that access code in the "My Account" section. Please note that you do NOT need to enter the entire code. Start typing the code, and continue until the "Submit Access Code" button is enabled. If you enter an invalid access code, a message will appear telling you so.
If you owe any money on any of your permits, you can click on the "Pay Fees" button. This will bring you to Google Checkout.
Permits
Each permit issuer can decide what types of permits (such as mooring permits) can be issued through this web site. For each permit type, the home page displays a section that allows you to perform certain actions.
Apply for a Permit
If you want to apply for a new permit, choose from the following options:
Apply for a NEW Permit Online - Click this button if you want to submit an electronic permit application for a NEW permit. If you are trying to renew an existing permit, you should instead click on the Renew button on the appropriate permit in your My Account section.
View/Print Permit Application - Click this button if you want to display a blank permit application, which you can then print and submit by mail to the permit issuer.
Enter a Permit - This option is available only to permit issuers, and is used to enter the information provided on a paper application. By using this option, the permit will not be placed into your "My Account" section, and you will not be asked to pay the fees.
