History for Berth Status (history as of 4/18/2017 4:59:35 PM)

Overview

For each berth, there are two statuses:
- A long-term status, which describes how the berth has been used on a seasonal basis
- A short-term status, which conveys how the berth has been used on a transient basis

For example, let's take an example of a boater who has been assigned to a slip for a season, but they are currently away and you want to fill the slip with another boater while they are away.  The seasonal status will indicate that the slip is occupied, and the transient status will indicate that the slip is unoccupied.

The status of a berth may change over time, and the status for any point in time is calculated based on a number of factors, as described below:

Status Values

Status  Meaning  Rules for status
Proposed The berth is not yet physically present.
Unavailable The berth is physically present, but no one can be assigned to it.
Available The berth is physically present, and it can be assigned to someone, no one is currently assigned.
Pending The berth is physically present, and it can be assigned to someone, no one is currently assigned, but someone is in the process of getting assigned to this berth.
Partly Occupied The berth is physically present.  The berth can handle more than one vessel/applicant, and it has been assigned to someone, but you can assign another person to this berth at the same time as long as you don't exceed the capacity of the berth (maximum number of applications, or maximum combined length of vessels, or maximum combined beam of vessels)
Occupied  The berth is physically present, and it can be assigned to someone, and it is assigned to one or more people and there is no room for anyone else at the berth.
Not Present The berth is no longer physically present.
Various  During the timeframe specified, the berth status varies between more than one of the statuses listed above.
