USCG Vessel Registration Report

Not Rated Yet

This report summarizes all the active vessel registrations in your jurisdiction, in a format required by the U.S. Coast Guard.

There are no options for running this report, so the report displays immediately upon request.

Exports to PDF, Excel, and Word are available from the toolbar at the top of the report.

Vessel Length Issue

This report totals the number of registrations, with a breakdown by the length of the vessel.  The Coast Guard requires that adding all the length-specific columns should match with the total column on the right, but there are two situations that can't happen.

When this mismatch happens, you will see an asterisk next to the number in the total column.  You'll need to make this asterisk go away by making some changes to registration(s) in your database.  Here are the situations that lead to problems:

Situation #1:  The vessel length on the registration is blank.  In that case, we don't have enough information to know which length-specific column the registration belongs in, so we don't show it in any of the length-specific columns.  You'll need to fill in a length value on that registration.

Situation #2:  The vessel length on the registration is over 26' on a Personal Watercraft.  In that case, we can't display the information about that registration on the Coast Guard report, because those columns don't exist on the form.  You'll either need to change the vessel type so that it is no longer considered a personal watercraft, or will need to change the length to be less than 26.

To identify the problem registrations:

- Click the Export button on the Registration Report page (instead of the View button)
- Open the exported file in Excel.  You'll see one row per registration, with the registration number in the BoatRegDocClean field.
- Sort by the LengthInFeet field. and empty values will come to the top.  That'll identify registrations in Situation #1.
- Sort by the VesselClass field and LengthClass field, and scroll down to where the Vessel Class is "Personal Watercraft" and the LengthClass is "U45", "U65", or "O65".  That'll identify registrations in Situation #2.
