Tackle Rule

Not Rated Yet
The Tackle Rule page allows you to define some limits on the sizes/lengths of mooring tackle based on some conditions that you define.

On the top half of the page, you can define conditions about when these rules apply.  On the bottom half of the page, you can specify the limits on mooring tackle sizes or lengths when those conditions are met.

Conditions

Specify when the limits on this page apply by entering search conditions:

Location - If you enter a location, then the limits on this page will only apply when the mooring is in the specified location.  For example, you could specify one set of limits for moorings in saltwater, and another set of limits for moorings in freshwater.

Berth Type - If you enter a berth type, then the limits on this page will only apply when the mooring has the specified type.  For example, you could specify one set of limits for single-point moorings, and a different set of limits for double-point moorings.

Vessel Type - If you enter a vessel type, then the limits on this page will only apply when the boat assigned to the mooring has the specified type.  For example, you could specify one set of limits for power boats, and a different set of limits for sail boats.

Minimum Vessel Length - If you enter a minimum vessel length, then the limits on this page will only apply when the boat assigned to the mooring is at least as long as the value specified.  This allows you to specify different limits for different size boats.

Maximum Vessel Length - If you enter a maximum vessel length, then the limits on this page will only apply when the boat assigned to the mooring is no longer than the value specified.  This allows you to specify different limits for different size boats.

Minimum Displacement - If you enter a minimum displacement weight, then the limits on this page will only apply when the boat assigned to the mooring is at least as heavy as the value specified.  This allows you to specify different limits for different size boats.

Maximum Displacement - If you enter a maximum displacement weight, then the limits on this page will only apply when the boat assigned to the mooring is no heavier than the value specified.  This allows you to specify different limits for different size boats.

If you leave ALL fields blank, you will specifying rules that apply to ALL moorings.

Limits

In this section, you can specify restrictions on the size and/or length of any component of the mooring tackle, when the conditions listed above are met.

Tackle Component -  Pick the part of the mooring tackle that you want to put restrictions on.

Tackle Type -  For each tackle component, we provide a list of component types.  For example, for the Block, some of the valid types are "Helix", "Mushroom", "Block", etc.  If you enter a tackle type in the limits area, then the limits on that line only apply when the tackle is of the specified type.  For example, this allows you to have different weight limits for a Mushroom block versus a Pyramid block.

Minimum Tackle Size - If you want to specify a minimum tackle size, please enter it here.  You have the option to pick a size from a drop-down list, or to enter a formula that calculates the minimum tackle size.  If you enter a formula, it must be a valid T-SQL expression (see https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190286.aspx for more info).  For example, you might indicate that the minimum weight is the area of the vessel (i.e., "LengthInFeet * BeamInFeet").

Maximum Tackle Size -  If you want to specify a maximum tackle size, please enter it here.  You have the option to pick a size from a drop-down list, or to enter a formula that calculates the maximum tackle size.  If you enter a formula, it must be a valid T-SQL expression (see https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190286.aspx for more info).

Minimum Tackle Length - If you want to specify a minimum tackle length, please enter it here.  You have the option to enter the length, or to enter a formula that calculates the minimum tackle length.  If you enter a formula, it must be a valid T-SQL expression (see https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190286.aspx for more info).   For example, you might indicate that the minimum chain length is the depth of the water (i.e., "WaterDepth")

Maximum Tackle Length - If you want to specify a maximum tackle length, please enter it here.  You have the option to enter the length, or to enter a formula that calculates the maximum tackle length.  If you enter a formula, it must be a valid T-SQL expression (see https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms190286.aspx for more info).   For example, you might indicate that the chain length can be no longer than 3 times the depth of the water  (i.e., "WaterDepth * 3")
