Inspector Change Requests

Not Rated Yet
Mooring Inspectors can view and enter inspection data for moorings that have been assigned to them.  A mooring is assigned to an inspector when the inspector is listed on the mooring record.  This is usually done by the boater while they are submitting their application to the provider.

Even though the boater is best suited to know who their inspector is, it is possible that the wrong inspector is listed on the mooring within the Online Mooring database.  If the wrong inspector is listed, the correct inspector cannot enter the inspection.

To solve this problem, an inspector can make an "Inspector Change Request" so that they will become listed as the inspector for a mooring.

Here is how the process works:

Inspector Initiates the Request
1)  The inspector logs into Online Mooring.
2)  At the bottom of the Home Page, an inspector will see an area called "Change Service Provider".  This is ONLY visible to inspectors (to be exact, only to logins assigned to a role called Inspector)
3)  The inspector enters the mooring number, and the last name of the person currently assigned to that mooring.  If the inspector enters a valid mooring number, and the first 3 letters of the last name match with the first 3 letters of the last name on file, then the request is submitted.

Applicant Reviews the Request
1)  An e-mail will be sent to the applicant, letting them know that an inspector has requested access to the inspection information on their mooring.  In the e-mail are two links:  one link approves the request, and one link rejects the request.
2)  The applicant clicks the Approve link or the Reject link in their e-mail.
3)  An e-mail is sent to the inspector, letting them know that the request was accepted or rejected.  The inspector can access the inspection info for that mooring immediately after the applicant accepts the request.

Provider Reviews the Request (if needed)
1)  If the applicant doesn't approve the change request within a reasonable timeframe (unless the provider changes this, we usually give them one week), we send an e-mail to the provider letting them know that an inspector wants access to a mooring and the applicant hasn't taken any action.
2)  The Provider goes to their Dashboard page and will see a "Service Provider Change Request" area at the bottom of the page.  This will list all of the open inspector change requests, broken down by status.  The inspector can click on any Status to see a list of all change requests in that status.
3)  On the Inspector Change Request page, the provider can view information about the mooring and who is assigned to it, and can potentially contact the applicant before taking any action on the change request.  Once the provider has enough information to make a decision, they will click on the Approve or Reject buttons next to the change request.
4)  An e-mail is sent automatically to the inspector, letting them know that the request was accepted or rejected.  The inspector can  access the inspection info for that mooring immediately after the provider accepts the request.
