Adding a User

In order to add a user, you need to have security administration rights.  If you are logged in and see the Security option in the menu at the top of the page, you have security administration rights.  If you don't have these rights, please feel free to contact Online Mooring support to add the user on your behalf.

Step #1 - Create a new Online Mooring account

• Choose the Security > Users option from the menu
• On the Users page, click the Add button
• On the New Users page, enter the new login ID, password, and e-mail address of the user.  If you enter in an existing login ID, or a password that isn't long enough, or an invalid e-mail address, you will not be able to proceed.

Step #2 - Assign rights to the account

• After registering the account in step #1, you'll be brought to the User page, where you can assign rights.
• The first step is to assign the user to the appropriate security role.  Each provider can define their own security roles, but here is a summary of the initial roles that Online Mooring provides:
  • Administrator - can do anything
  • Approver - can do anything except change the configuration of the site
  • Viewer - can see all information, but can't change anything
  • Finance - can see all information, but can only change financial information
  • Inspector - can see all information about the moorings that have been assigned to them, but can only change inspection information
  • Public - can only see their own applications
• The next step, which is optional, is to filter what data the user can access.
  • If the account should only be able to view/update information for a particular harbor, select that harbor from the list.
  • If the account should only be able to view/update information for moorings that have been assigned to a specific service provider, select that service provider from the list.
