Security Role

Overview

This page allows you to view and/or update information about a single security role.  This includes descriptive information about the role, and a specification of the privileges that are assigned to the role.

Fields

Role Name - This is the role name that is assigned to this role.  Some role names are predefined and cannot be changed:

Anonymous - This is the group automatically assigned to anyone to visits the web site without logging in

Authenticated - This is the group automatically assigned to anyone who logs into the web site, but has not applied for any permits.

Public - This is the group automatically assigned to anyone who has logged in and has provided their contact information.

Administrator - This group can do everything.

Role Description -  This is a longer description of the group.

Rights - The reset of the page allows you to specify the rights that this group will have for a number of different portions of the system.  The help pages let you know what rights are needed to view and/or update each page.  Here are the valid options for each right:

None - This role cannot perform this function

User's data - This role can only perform this function when it relates to their own permits.

Inspected data -  This role can only perform this function when it relates to moorings that are inspected by the logged in user.

All - This role can perform this function at all times.
