Wait List Module Minimize

Online Mooring provides a comprehensive wait list module, to allow you to better manage access to scarce marine resources.

What kinds of wait lists are supported?
Providers often have multiple wait list for different types of marine resources, and Online Mooring supports this.

For each "permit type" (such as "mooring permits", "dock permits", etc.), the provider can define multiple wait lists. These wait lists are often broken down by geographic area (for example, one wait list per harbor), or by vessel type (for example, a wait list for smaller vessels, and a wait list for larger vessels), but can be broken down in any way that you want.

Wait lists are most often organized so that people who apply earlier appear higher on the list. Some providers have other approaches to decide the priority of applicants on the list, and Online Mooring supports those customized approaches.

Who can view the wait lists, and how do they view them?
Providers decide who will be able to view the wait list, but typically this information is available to the public.

Authorized people will see a list of the wait lists on the Online Mooring home page. They can click on any of the wait lists to see the current list, in priority order.

How does someone apply to be on a wait list?
Using Online Mooring, a boater will go through the Wait List Application Wizard, which will have them fill out the necessary information. If the provider requires any supporting documentation at this stage in the process, they can upload electronic copies of the documentation, if available. If the provider requires the applicant to accept any terms and conditions, the web site will get that approval. If the provider requires any fees during this process, the applicant can pay those fees online by credit card.

If the provider requires that a boater submit a renewal application to remain on the wait list, that process is supported in a similar fashion.

How does a provider manage the wait list?
Providers can view a listing of all wait list applications that have been submitted, and can review the applications online to determine whether to accept or reject the application.

Providers can click on an application, view any available resources that could be used to satisfy the request, and the providers can then assign the applicant to one of the resources in the harbor.
